Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how to tell us to stop. Last updated 21 October 2026.

GameLedger is an independent Android game review and recommendation site. We run a small site, we are not a social network, and we do not run accounts. That shapes everything on this page: we collect very little about you, we do not sell anything to anyone, and the only reason advertising appears on GameLedger is to keep the hosting bill paid without charging you for the site.

In short

GameLedger is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. Google Play is a service of Google LLC, and the games we write about belong to their own developers and publishers. We only use publicly available store information to describe those games and to link to their official listings.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you send us

If you email us, the only information we receive is what you put in the message: your email address, anything you write, and whatever mail headers your provider attaches. We use it to reply. We do not add you to a mailing list, because we do not have one. We do not sell it, trade it, or pass it to an ad network.

1.2 Community reviews on this site

This is the part we want to be unusually clear about, because the wording on review sites often gets stretched.

The review content published on GameLedger pages is AI-assisted simulated editorial and community feedback. It is written by our content generation tooling to illustrate the kind of feedback a game tends to attract, based on the game's own store description, genre and public Play Store rating. It is not collected from real Google Play users, it is not a transcript of anyone's actual experience, and the usernames shown are invented handles rather than real accounts. Nothing on this site should be read as a verified purchase, a genuine player testimonial, or a quotation from Google Play.

Where a rating number appears next to a game, that number is the game's rating on Google Play at the time we fetched it, and it is a fact about the store rather than a score we calculated. See our Editorial Policy for the full explanation of how review text and star distributions are produced.

1.3 Google Play data we source

To build a database of games we periodically retrieve publicly available listing information from Google Play. For each game this typically includes the app name, the package identifier, the developer name, the category or genre, the short description, the full store description, the public star rating and the number of ratings, the price and whether the game is free, the install count range, the content rating, the release and last-updated dates, the current version string, and the icon, cover image and screenshot URLs.

We do not ask Google for, and we do not have, any user's personal information, review identity, email address or purchase history. We read the public store listing the same way a visitor's browser does. Google Play data remains the property of Google LLC and the relevant developer or publisher, and we use it under the editorial and nominative use described in our Terms of Service.

1.4 Device and connection information

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for a limited period. These can include the requested page, the timestamp, the referring page, the browser type and version, the device type and a truncated or hashed IP address. We use this only to keep the site running, to spot abuse such as scraping and denial-of-service traffic, and to see which sections are worth maintaining. We do not build advertising profiles from it.

1.5 Local storage

Your browser's local storage holds a small amount of our own data: your light or dark theme choice. This never leaves your device and is not linked to your identity.

1.6 What we do not collect

It is worth being explicit about the list of things we do not hold, because it is short. We do not collect your name, address, telephone number, date of birth, payment card details, bank details, government identifiers, precise location, contacts list, photo library, or health information. We do not collect or store the contents of your Google account, your Google Play purchase history, your Google Play reviews, or your Play Store profile. We do not run fingerprinting, and we do not attempt to identify you across other websites.

We also do not build a behavioural profile for advertising purposes. The advertising technologies described in section 2 are operated by third parties, and they operate on the cookie and IP data they set on your own device. We do not receive a list of which other sites you visit, and we do not share a profile of you with anyone.

2. Cookies and advertising technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies. The full catalogue is on our Cookie Policy; the summary is here because it is the part most visitors actually care about.

GameLedger is built to monetise through Google AdSense. AdSense delivers advertising on this site, and it works by placing cookies on your device so that ads can be served and, in aggregate, measured. In particular, Google's advertising services use the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and cookies known as NID and IDE to help measure ad performance and limit the number of times an ad is shown to the same person. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites.

We also work with a small number of third-party advertising partners, including, depending on what is live at any given moment, partners in the regional category of Google AdSense. Those partners may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to collect information as a result of ad serving on this site. Their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies, not by this one.

None of this is new, and none of it is hidden. You have three straightforward options:

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to publish the site, answer your email, keep the service secure and available, comply with legal obligations, and improve the editorial relevance of our pages. We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects for you, we do not build behavioural profiles, and we do not run automated marketing sequences.

4. Advertising transparency

Ads on GameLedger are labelled. Advertising is kept visually and structurally separated from navigation, game cards, review text and links, and we do not design pages so that an accidental click is likely. When you follow an advertisement, the destination site has its own privacy policy and its own data practices, and we have no control over what happens once you arrive there.

5. Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only in these narrow situations:

6. Legal bases for processing

For readers in the UK and the European Economic Area, the lawful bases we rely on are:

We do not rely on consent for anything we would otherwise do anyway, and we do not make the site conditional on accepting advertising. Publishing public game information requires no lawful basis at all, because it is not personal information.

7. Retention

We keep things only as long as they are useful.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal information relating to you. We support the following, and we do not charge for them or make you jump through hoops.

California residents. Under the CCPA and CPRA, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and to limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined by the CCPA, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not knowingly share the personal information of anyone under 16 with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising. The advertising cookies described in section 2 may constitute a "share" for cross-context behavioural advertising, and you can opt out using the tools listed there. To exercise any CCPA right, email us and we will respond within 45 days.

United Kingdom and European Economic Area residents. Our legal bases for processing are: legitimate interests for operating and securing the site and for responding to your email; consent for non-essential cookies and advertising technologies, which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligation where retention is required by law. We do not carry out automated decision-making within the meaning of Article 22 of the GDPR.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object on grounds relating to your particular situation.

8.1 How to make a request

Send one email to support@gameguide003.northfivefun.com with the subject line "Privacy request" and tell us which right you are exercising. We will acknowledge within five working days and respond substantively within the statutory period: one month in the UK and the EEA, and 45 days in California, extendable where a request is genuinely complex. We will not ask you for identification unless we are legally required to, and if we do, we will explain why and what we need.

Because we hold so little data about people, most requests are straightforward. If you ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, you will receive your email correspondence with us and any server log line that identifies your address. There is no behavioural profile to export, because we do not build one, and there is no consent record to hand over, because the site never asks you for one.

9. International transfers

Our hosting and advertising partners operate globally, so technical data connected with a request may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the relevant standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. If you would like more detail about where a specific transfer happens, email us and we will explain.

10. Children's privacy and advertising

GameLedger is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not run accounts, so we have no age verification and no age data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it straight away.

We also do not knowingly serve personalised advertising to users we know to be under 13, and we do not use behavioural advertising to build a profile of a minor. We do not run advertising campaigns that target children, and we do not accept advertising from products we believe are aimed at children.

11. Third-party links

Every game page links out to its official Google Play listing, and some descriptions link to developer websites. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, which we do not control and have not reviewed. Please read them before giving any information to a third party.

12. Embedded content, trailers and third-party media

Some game pages include a developer trailer or a gameplay video hosted on YouTube. Where we embed such a video, it is loaded from Google's own infrastructure and Google may set cookies or collect data as a result, governed by the Google privacy policy rather than this one. Where we only link out to a video rather than embed it, nothing is loaded from a third party until you click, and the destination is governed by its own policy.

We do not embed comment widgets, social media buttons, chat widgets, map embeds or tracking pixels from social networks. That is a deliberate choice: each of those would bring a third party into your visit before you had done anything. If we ever add one, we will say so here first.

13. Analytics, aggregated data and statistics

We use aggregated, non-identifying analytics to understand how the site is used. The data is a count of page views, referred pages, approximate device categories, approximate regions and general performance metrics. It is not linked to a name, an email address, an account or an advertising identifier, and it is not shared with advertisers.

Where we publish statistics derived from our own database — for example, how many games in a genre are free to play — that is a calculation over public store data and contains nothing about you.

14. Mobile app and future services

GameLedger is a website. We do not operate a mobile app, and we do not ask you to install one. If we ever do, this policy will be updated before it launches, and any app that collects data will say so in its own store listing before you install it. We will not introduce a required account, a login wall, or a data collection practice that is not described here.

15. Your preferences and how to change them

You can change almost everything without writing to us:

For everything else — a copy of the data we hold about you, a correction, or its deletion — email us and we will action it.

16. Security and breach notification

The site is served over HTTPS, administrative access is restricted, and we keep the software we run patched. No system is infallible. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority without undue delay, and we will tell you what we know and what we are doing about it.

17. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and we will change the "last updated" date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information, we will say so prominently on the site rather than only burying it here. Where a change requires fresh consent — for example because we introduce a new advertising partner — we will make sure the new partner respects the opt-out signals your browser and the industry tools have already set, rather than assume the old answer still applies.

18. Contact

Questions, requests and complaints all go to the same address: support@gameguide003.northfivefun.com. If you are in the UK or the EEA and want to raise a formal complaint with a supervisory authority rather than with us, you can find the right one on the ICO website or through EDPB.

Please tell us which right you are exercising, or what you would like us to do, and we will handle it without asking you to prove who you are unless we are legally required to.
