GameLedger publishes information about Android games so that people can find something worth installing. We try to be accurate and we try to be clear about the limits of what we publish. This page sets out those limits in plain language.
1. Information comes from Google Play
Game information on this Site — titles, developers, categories, descriptions, screenshots, icons, cover art, star ratings, rating counts, download ranges, prices, content ratings, version numbers, release dates and update dates — is collected from publicly available Google Play listings.
That information can change at any time, and it can change without notice to us. A developer can change a price, publish an update, withdraw a game, alter a description or change a content rating at any time. We refresh the database on a rolling schedule, so there will always be a gap between the store and what we show. We do not control the store and we cannot guarantee that what you read here still matches it an hour later.
2. Ratings and prices reflect the store at fetch time
When a game page shows a score of 4.3, that is the average score Google Play was showing for that game at the moment we fetched the data, alongside the number of ratings it had at that moment. It is not a score we calculated, and it is not a verdict we reached.
Likewise, the price shown is the store price for the region our data was fetched in, which may be different from the price you are charged. Prices can differ by country, can be changed at any time, and can be reduced temporarily. A game marked "Free" is free to download, which says nothing about whether it contains advertising, in-app purchases or a subscription.
Always check the live listing on Google Play before you buy or install anything. If the store and this page disagree, the store is right.
3. GameLedger is not affiliated with Google
GameLedger is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorised by Google LLC. Google Play is a trademark of Google LLC. We use the name to identify the store our data comes from and to link to official listings. Google has no involvement in our editorial, our selection, our rankings or our advertising decisions, and nothing we publish should be read as a statement by Google.
Game names, logos, artwork, screenshots and store descriptions belong to their respective developers and publishers, and are used here for editorial and nominative purposes. We are not claiming to own them. See section 5 of our Terms of Service for the detail.
4. Community reviews are AI-assisted simulated feedback
This is the most important disclaimer on the site, so we are putting it in plain terms rather than burying it.
The review content shown on game pages is AI-assisted simulated editorial and community feedback. It is generated by our own tooling to represent the sort of reactions a game tends to attract, using the game's store description, its genre and its public Play Store rating as inputs.
Specifically, and without any ambiguity:
- These are not real Google Play reviews.
- They are not written by, or attributed to, any real person.
- The usernames shown are invented handles, not accounts belonging to anyone.
- The "helpful" counts and the dates are generated, not measured.
- They are not verified purchases, and they must never be read as statements of fact about anyone's actual experience of the game.
They appear on the Site labelled "GameLedger community reviews", and the method is documented in full on our Editorial Policy. If you want genuine player feedback, the authentic reviews are on the game's own Google Play listing.
5. Editorial opinion, not advice
The commentary, summaries, comparisons and recommendations on this Site are our editorial opinion. They are written for a general audience and they are not a recommendation tailored to your device, your budget, your age, your data allowance or your tolerance for ads and in-app purchases. A game we rate highly may be a poor fit for you, and the reverse is true just as often. Treat everything we write as a starting point for your own judgement, not a substitute for it.
6. No guarantee of accuracy, availability or fitness
We work hard to keep the site accurate and available, but the Site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any information will be complete or current, or that anything we publish will be suitable for a particular purpose. 7. External links
Every game page links to its official Google Play listing, and some descriptions link to developers' own websites. We do not control those destinations, we are not responsible for their content, and a link is not an endorsement of the site or the product on the other end.
8. Advertising
Advertisements on this Site are served by third-party networks, including Google AdSense, and are not written or endorsed by us. We have no control over the content of advertisements or over what happens after you click one. If you see something in an advert that looks wrong, please report it to us and, if it is an ad-network issue, to the network as well.
9. Corrections
